At the end
of HP101, those of you who participate will be able to:
Explain
the major definitions and concepts of health promotion
Relate
and apply the major models and theories underpinning the field
of health promotion
Relate
some of the key milestones that led to the development of the
field of health promotion in Canada
Put
into practice key strategies to take action on the health issues
affecting individuals and communities
Provide
concrete examples of how the features and values of health promotion,
including the Ottawa Charter, manifest themselves in programs
and services of various types, policy development and implementation
self-care, mutual aid and other HP approaches
Identify
and describe several implications for their current practice
of concepts presented in the course
Identify
future learning for health promotion practice
Intended
Audience
The course
has been designed to serve the full range of us working in the
HP field:
practicing
health promoters (whether self-declared or not) primarily in
Ontario
either those just entering
or new to the field, or those who are more experienced and are
seeking a refresher
those who may be seeking
certification, credits to a degree, etc. (the varying levels
of participation will create desired flexibility and options)
